What does a SnowStorm have to do with The Surveillance State
Now this is something I've got an opinion on. I have been thinking about Americas crumbling infrastructure lately. Perhaps because of the havoc wrought by the Halloween Snow Storm, perhaps not. Why are all those wires above ground, anyway? If they were neatly buried, they wouldn't come down every time there is a wind, right. And then it dawns on me that they were never buried because it was too much work/cost, and they never will be buried because that kind of public work effort is beyond us now as a people. So, we will limp along and put up with it because its all just too much. But, then I realize that there is one piece of infrastructure that has been refined and expanded at enormous cost to the country. Why, its the Surveillance State! That's where all the money and effort and innovation is going. You see, its secret, so we don't really have it on the radar. But WaPo did a very nice job exposing it some time back.
