LRAD

That stands for Long Range Acoustic Device. It emits ear piercing (literally) sound waves to immobilize terrorists and, apparently, pirates at sea. Who knew that pirates at sea were such an issue, but whatever.

Now, what has me scratching my head is why a NYPD officer would be holding such a device down at OWS.

Can anybody figure this one out? Makes no sense to me.
